Southwest Florida is a very popular landing place for snowbird retirees, especially from the mid-west. The summers are extremely hot here, so it is a better retirement destination for those who only want to spend winters in Florida than it is for full-time Florida residents. Collier County/Naples (details of the area coming soon) is a relatively conservative, upscale area that has the highest median housing prices in the state. Lee County, just to the north of Collier County, is more laid-back and a bit more affordable.
