One of the things that makes the Florida Panhandle different from other parts of Florida is that the busy season for the Panhandle is the summer, while most of the rest of Florida has a busy winter season. The reason for the busy summer season is that residents of the nearby land-locked southern states come to the Florida Panhandle to enjoy their summer beach vacations. The average winter high temperatures here are in the 60’s. And while that might sound balmy to residents of the northern U.S. states, most people find those temperatures to be a bit too chilly for sun-bathing on the beach.
